Climate Change Adaptation and Food Security Programme Officer

Support the design and implementation of climate change adaptation programs that strengthen food security and nutrition in humanitarian emergencies. The role integrates climate resilience into agricultural livelihoods programming. Key responsibilities: (1) develop climate-smart agriculture and food security interventions in emergency and fragile contexts; (2) conduct climate risk and vulnerability assessments to inform program design; (3) support the integration of climate adaptation into humanitarian response frameworks; (4) coordinate with UN agencies, governments, and NGOs on climate-food security nexus initiatives; (5) contribute to policy development on climate change, food security, and nutrition in emergencies; (6) manage knowledge products and capacity building on climate-resilient food systems. Requirements: Advanced degree in Climate Change, Environmental Science, Food Security, Nutrition, or related field; minimum 5 years of experience in climate adaptation, food security, or humanitarian programming; knowledge of IPCC frameworks, climate finance mechanisms, and Sendai Framework; experience in emergency food security assessments (EFSA) and IPC protocols; excellent English; French or Arabic desirable.
